An All-White Version of the Nike Air Huarache Is Hitting for Spring

Living in a big city as I do, you get used to walking everywhere. You also get used to A LOT of people, which inevitably leads to lots of mud and bad conditions during the winter. If you’re a sneakerhead, it’s not always fun. There are certain shoes you can’t wear, and some others that are so special you basically have to retire them for the winter. So when the weather starts getting warmer, it inevitably feels great to bring out all those white kicks you stashed away in the closet.

For me, that’s been shoes like the adidas Superstar — a classic in every sense of the word — and the all-white version of the adidas D Rose 5, which I’ve tried casually as well as on the court. But Nike is releasing something that’ll be more than just something on my radar. I have to have it.

Dropping today at Champs Sports, just in the nick of time, is an all-white version of the Air Huarache. The Huarache technology dates back to 1991 and to — yep, you guessed it — designer Tinker Hatfield. It was one of the first examples of Nike creating a shoe that was stripped down to its bare essentials. It also toned down the iconic Swoosh branding so as to better focus on all of the technology incorporated into the runner. Almost immediately, the shoe became a cultural icon.

Recently, we’ve seen some awesome Huarache colorways, including the “Desert Storm” and holiday colorways. The all-white fits right in. I can guarantee you’ll be seeing a lot of these over the next few months.

Spring is the best time of the year for white sneakers. Keep up with the game with this release.
