What to Wear on Halloween: A Champs Sports Edition

  • The Walking Dead

If there’s one thing I can’t stand about The Walking Dead it’s that the characters get sooo freaked out whenever they see a group of zombies coming toward them. Um, hello? The things move at like two miles an hour. I’m pretty sure if you just run away, you’ll be fine. (In typical TV fashion, they not only don’t do this…but they run towards the zombies. Why?!)

So if you’re looking to head out as a zombie this year, or even a character from the show (Daryl, if you’re a dude…and maybe Michonne, if you’re a girl), cop yourself something that’ll actually help you move quick. I’m talking about the adidas Springblade Drive.

Nicki’s “Anaconda” video was one of the biggest musical events of 2014, shutting down Twitter and the Internets for a few weeks earlier this year. But in the sneaker culture, ironically, many folks cared more about the “Game Royal” Air Jordan VI that was spotted in the video, as well as the Jordan III that Drake had on.

If your girl is going as Ms. Minaj this year, you know where to cop some J’s.

It’s always easy dressing up as an athlete for Halloween. Maybe you’re going as Troy Polamalu¬†and decide to grab yourself a massive wig to tip people off. Maybe you’re going as an injured player and decide to bring out the arm sling or the knee brace. Either way, it doesn’t matter what you do…in order to make it work you need the essentials. Thankfully, Champs Sports has virtually every jersey and every signature sneaker you’ll ever need for this.

  • Justin Bieber

So unless you’re going to go as Biebs the boxer — thanks for that, Money Mayweather — there’s only one thing you absolutely need to pull Bieber off: You need hats of all the best teams, past or present, regardless of team affiliation or where you live or what teams you root for. Add in a pair of shades for good reason, but the hat…that’s the essential right there. You can’t pretend to be Justin Bieber and go out in public and not have a random bandwagon hat on.

And finally, there’s Kevin Durant. If you’re going as the NBA’s reigning MVP this year, your outfit won’t be complete without a backpack. Yeah, you can grab any old bag and make it work, but why not go the extra mile and make it official? Get the real KD bag, the one he rocks everywhere, every day. Once you do that, the rest of the outfit will be easy.

Halloween is finally here. If you have no clue about what to wear, chances are we can’t help you. There just isn’t enough time left. Most likely, you’ll have to hit up a Walmart or Marshall’s and go with whatever you can find there, which is my go-to strategy for the last 20 years. It’s not the worst thing in the world, however. I’ve been a hot, old mom before, as well as Billy Hoyle, and Steve Urkel. Not the greatest but hey, I wasn’t even close to the worst-dressed at any parties and, in fact, ended up with a few admirers.

So the options are there. But a true fan needs to go a little deeper. You want to stand out at that party right? If that’s the case, and we certainly hope it is, it’s not about being the same thing that everyone else is. You need to be different. You need to make noise.

Pro athletes are notorious for that. Through social media over the last few years, they’ve consistently dropped costume bombs around this awesome holiday. Shaquille O’Neal. Bryce Harper. Roddy White. It feels like everyone is in on the joke and we’re all just following along. We love it and we have to be honest: Many of them are much more creative than we anticipated.

This year, let Champs Sports help you polish off your outfit. Make sure you’re sticking with The Drop here for What to Wear on Halloween: A Champs Sports Edition. If you’re not, you must understand there’s a good chance you’ll miss out on being memorable.
