Since the start last year, Stephen Curry‘s signature sneaker line with Under Armour has featured great storytelling. The reigning MVP has used his sneaker’s canvas as a way to express the love he has for his father, his hometown, his birthday, and even abstract characteristics like the love he has for his teammates. Curry’s latest edition, however, is probably one of his most unique so far.
Available on Friday at Champs Sports will be the latest UA Curry Two colorway, coming correct in Electric Blue and Midnight Navy, with hits of bright yellow throughout and a midsole featuring paint splashes. The shoe honors Haight Street in San Francisco, which is famous for starting the hippie movement back in the day. At the moment, it’s become a shopping center district, but it still sports that distinctive carefree attitude. That makes it a fitting tribute for Curry and the Warriors, considering they play the game with such joy and unadulterated creativity.
As always, the shoe is a perfect weapon for every ballplayer, with UA’s patented SpeedForm technology in the upper, full-length Charged cushioning for a smooth ride, heel and mid-foot shanks to lock you in, and a herringbone traction pattern on the outsole. So far this season, no player is captivating the audience quite like Curry, and that should only continue as we move forward in 2016.
Curry and Under Armour continue to pump out new Curry Two colorways and the latest “Haight Street” edition–paying homage to the birthplace of the hippie movement in San Francisco–is one of the best yet.
