Kick off the holiday in the right way by copping a pair of these. Featuring a new take on a classic silhouette with traditional colors, this Jordan VI Low is going to be a hit this summer, considering its somewhat subtle use of black and red. White shoes are popping right now. Cop this one to have a standout in your collection.

  • Nike KD 8

    Nike KD 8

    Release Date: July 11

The KD 8 is following in some big footsteps. Yes, Kevin Durant barely used the KD 7 on the court, but that was basically because he missed most of the year with injuries and even when he did play, the shoe wasn’t the best option for him considering his foot issues. With that being said, the KD 7 was a monster hit last year, and while his next signature sneaker received some backlash when it was first revealed, we’re betting Durant’s line continues to trend up.

  • Air Jordan 7 Bordeaux
    Air Jordan VII "Bordeaux"

    Release Date: July 18

A classic sneaker on a classic silhouette? The “Bordeaux” Retro VII will be hard to top this year. Maybe it’s the unique colorway. Maybe it’s the cool color blocking. Whatever it is, wearing these kicks automatically makes you standout among your peers, and this month it’s returning in remastered form.

From Kevin Durant‘s latest signature sneaker to Jordan Brand, July is all set with a number of impressive sneaker releases. Make sure you’re ready.

July, as a sneakerhead, will always be one of my favorite months of the year. This year will be no different. You just know that the top brands out there are going to be bringing the heat with collections that play right off of the infamous red, white, and blue color schemes. This year, all of the fun started with Nike Basketball’s 4th of July pack for their four star signature athletes in LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, and Kyrie Irving. No, the pack isn’t releasing in July — it actually came toward the tail end of June. But we’re counting it nonetheless because the inspiration is obvious.

However, my favorite part of the holiday this year is what PUMA cooked up. Back in June, they released a sick three-shoe collection for the classic silhouettes, the Star and Basket, that includes star-textured uppers to help signify the American flag, and paint-splashed outsoles that are unique to each shoe. Even though it’s been out for a month now, July 4 is the perfect time to cop.

July is going to kill it this year, especially when you add in the Air Jordan Retro VII “Bordeaux,” a shoe that is perennially one of the year’s best no matter when it releases, as well as the introduction of the Nike KD 8, the next sneaker in line for Kevin Durant‘s rapidly growing signature series. Finish off the month with the “Fire and Ice” pack from adidas for the ZX Flux and it’s a stretch we are all excited for.

This is The Prequel and these are Sneakers in July That You Can’t Miss.

We never got to see LeBron James lace up his patented Soldier series this postseason. But in the end, that’s okay because the Soldier 9 looks like it’s going to be a huge leap forward stylistically. The Soldier series has always functioned as a purely performance shoe but the newest model might have a chance to win crossover appeal.
