Kyrie Irving is special. At just 23 years old, it’s already noticeable. The game-winners. The swagger. The style. The sneakers. The big moments, like when he hung 57 and 55 points respectively last season on two Western Conference contenders in San Antonio and Portland. Irving has his doubters just like every other star athlete, but most fans already recognize it: Irving is a superstar.
Brands recognize it, too. The Nike Kyrie 1 was an instant success this year. It was a sneaker that worked on the floor but also featured immediate crossover appeal. Some sneakerheads are already considering every colorway a must-cop and that’s a rarity in an age where there are so many options. The latest edition–“the Driveway”–is built for the playgrounds in black, grey, and green. This particular release is yet another hit for a line that’s batting 1.000.
However, Irving’s signature sneaker isn’t all that he’s rocking these days. In the Episode 6 of The Drop video series, we caught up with the Cleveland All-Star to talk about what’s on the horizon, specifically his new partnership with PSD and his upcoming underwear collection. The line will include, among others, performance underwear with galaxy themes, flamingo finishes, and pineapple details. Kyrie wants you to wear your life, to express yourself and everything you’ve been through, and this new PSD collection is your canvas.
The Drop video series is just getting warmed up, having opened up with names like Pro Bowlers A.J. Green and Eddie Lacy, and All-Star Kris Bryant. You can find all the episodes on the official Champs Sports YouTube page and if you want to get involved, make sure you’re hitting those sneaker Instagram pictures with the hashtag #MyGameMondays.
Kyrie Irving is quickly becoming one of the NBA’s most entertaining and stylish players. On and off the court, no one goes harder than Cleveland’s point guard. See more of that in Episode 6 of The Drop.
