From the return of the Nike Air logo on the Air Jordan IV to the potential unveiling of James Harden‘s first signature sneaker with adidas, 2016 is promising us a lot. It better, because it’ll be hard to top what went down in 2015.
Over the past 12 months, all of the most important brands in the culture came hard, hitting the wallets of collectors everywhere through upgraded retro drops, incredible colorways, and some of the most advanced performance technology ever seen on shoes.
To celebrate what must go down as one of the better years in sneaker culture, in the latest episode of The Drop video series sneaker influencer Jacques Slade (of @kustoo fame) came through as a special host to give his take on the best releases of the year from all of the biggest brands: adidas, Nike, Jordan Brand, Under Armour, and PUMA. From the Three-Stripes’ use of XENO reflective material on some of their best Originals silhouettes to one of the best colorways of the Air Jordan XI to ever release, 2015 was one of the best years yet for fans of the culture, and this video serves as a perfect capper to a year that saw us travel to Portland to get an inside look at Stephen Curry‘s latest signature sneaker, head to New Orleans to get into the head of one of the NBA’s most underrated players in Tyreke Evans, kick it over the holidays with sneakerheads DJ Khaled and Antonio Brown, and much more.
As 2015 closes, Jacques Slade spreads the love around to everyone in our final video of the year, from Nike to adidas to Jordan Brand to Under Armour to PUMA. Check out Episode 12 of The Drop Video Series and stay tuned for more in 2016.
