Outside of medal machine Michael Phelps, Australia’s Stephanie Rice might’ve been the single biggest star at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. She dominated the women’s field, winning gold in three different events in the 200m and 400m medleys, and 4 x 200m freestyle. Every event was done in world record time. Swimming World Magazine named her the year’s World Swimmer of the Year, affirming her place as a worthy counterpart to the previously mention U.S. legend.
Rice confirmed her retirement this spring, just a few months before her 26th birthday, and yet her name still lives on in social media. That’s because Stephanie Rice Is Still the Baddest Ever.
Whether it’s documenting her life, pre- and post-workout, or showing off some of the best #foodporn pictures you’ll ever see on Instagram, Rice is a must-follow.
It’s an important shopping time for everyone out there, and while we can hook you up with some suggestions on what to get your girl — whether it’s sneakers, clothes or snapbacks — the fact of the matter is we can’t tell you everything. Some things you’ll just have to figure out on your own. And by studying Stephanie Rice, you can probably come up with a few ideas. Remember: You can’t be screwing up the gifts to your significant other at this time of year. That’s a no-no.
