The Low edition of this classic sneaker is almost always underrated. It’s the perfect summer shoe. Literally.
I have a suspicion that most of the reasons for the Air Jordan XI Low always falling through the cracks have less to do with the actual shoe itself and more to do with its well-known brother. How can anyone talk about the low-top when the regular mid-cut shoe is so classic? It’s a viable question.
Today, we’ll test that theory once again as the “Georgetown” colorway of the Air Jordan XI Low is dropping at Champs Sports. This shoe features the same look as the previously released “Concord” edition of the Air Jordan XI, except for the fact that the patent leather, interior lining, and accenting is navy blue. With the summer not too far away, now is the perfect time to start stacking up on low-top sneakers. A pair of these with some fly fleece shorts? Nothing will look better.
On first glance, you might be wondering just why this sneaker is giving some love to the Hoyas. Michael Jordan went to North Carolina and famously made the game-winning jumper on Georgetown to win the 1982 NCAA title. So what gives? Well, true sneakerheads will know the Jordan Brand has longstanding ties with the Hoyas, as well as the Air Jordan XI — special shoutout to Allen Iverson.
The year is going to be a busy one for the Air Jordan XI Low. Start it off right with one of the illest colorways we’ve seen in a while. This is already a classic.
