  • Air Jordan 11 Retro Low IE Cobalt
Air Jordan 11 Retro Low IE

    Release Date: August 1

No Jordan is more universally loved than the XI, so it only makes sense that every low-top release is equally pleasing. This particular “Cobalt” colorway hasn’t seen the light of day in a long, long time and is a great transition sneaker for the August, September, and October months when you’re flip-flopping between shorts and pants.

  • Under Armour Curry One Low
Under Armour Curry One Low "Raiders"

    Release Date: August 14

The Curry One for Stephen Curry has had one of those rare cases of first-year success in the sneaker world where not only is it well-received but appears to gain steam as the year goes along. Every colorway has hit hard so far and the latest “Raiders” edition looks like a home run.

  • Air Jordan VII "Marvin the Martian"

    Release Date: August 15

I consider the “Hare” to be the greatest VII colorway ever released for obvious reasons. It looks good, yes, but the history behind that edition is super cool as it basically kicked off the long partnership between Bugs and MJ, and Warner Bros. and the Jordan Brand. Consider this release a deadly twist of that.

  • Air Jordan 6 Low Chrome
    Air Jordan VI Low "Chrome"

    Release Date: August 29

Everyone is rocking black-on-black nowadays, from rappers to athletes to the sneakerhead next door. And I think you’ll agree with me when I say that there’s arguably nothing coming out this month that’ll go harder than the “Chrome” edition of the Jordan VI. This colorways has always helped me get over the fact that I like the VI better in its original form.

I’m happy August is here. Seriously. Yeah, every month this summer so far has been going hard with the sneaker releases–May gave us the “Hare” Air Jordan VII; June was the PUMA Roma “Weave” collection; and July saw the drop of the Nike KD 8, Kevin Durant‘s latest signature sneaker. But August looks like it’s going to be nonstop heat from week to week.

Seriously, I can pick out a sneaker every week this month that is an ABSOLUTE must-cop. Most of them have some strong history behind them, and even the ones that don’t, such as Stephen Curry‘s latest colorway for the Under Armour Curry One, sport some mean aesthetics.

School is right around the corner, which means you and all of your friends need to start thinking about not only what you plan on rocking on the first day–always important, especially with school pictures–but also how you’re going to present yourself after a summer spent having fun. It’s not enough to stay as the same cat you were last spring. Show some growth. Show your style. Standout and it’ll have you feeling like a new dude this year. The beginning of school might be rough for a lot of people–trust me, I know it was for me–but all of this can at least dull the effect.

From Kevin Durant’s latest signature sneaker to more colorways for the LeBron 12 Low, August is going to be a big month for everyone going back to school. These are the Sneaker Releases in August That You Can’t Miss.

Release Date: August 22
The Jordan IX has a unique history, being that it was the sneaker released during Michael Jordan’s first retirement from the NBA. By the time the GOAT came back to the NBA, he had already moved onto the X. The IX, instead, became synonymous with his minor league baseball odyssey and is generally considered an underrated gem. This one is an all-new colorway with copper accenting.

Perhaps my favorite new signature sneaker of the past few years, Kyrie Irving‘s latest colorway will have you looking straight with the squad on Friday nights. In the gym, too…this shoe can work in both scenarios. I know people who are already all in on this bandwagon, copping every colorway that drops. This could be the start of something special.
