Pharrell’s History as a Style Icon

Style icon is a title not easily awarded to anyone. In rare cases where someone is given fashion’s highest praise, it can only mean that they have caused plenty of people to stop what they are doing and pay attention to the outfits they’re wearing, on a consistent basis.

This brings us to Pharrell Williams. The N.E.R.D. member has been moving the needle for quite some time, not only with his ear to create perfect beats, but also his taste in clothes. Fans and the fashion-conscious alike instantly emulate almost anything he wears. From his hat choices, to his BAPE co-signs, to his collaborations, Pharrell has always been ahead of the game as a true trendsetter.

He is one of the rare cases where taste, not trends, dictate his choices leading to a style all his own. His keen eye on fashion has landed him front covers in some of fashion’s best-known publications, and a well-deserved CFDA Fashion Icon award. If that’s not enough credentials for you, he has more. How about running a very successful clothing line? His own BBC brand has been killing the streetwear game for a minute. On top of that he’s had plenty of collaborations with brands who want his input. The most recent is his partnership with adidas, a collaboration that netted the “Supershell” special editions of the iconic Superstar, all available now at Champs Sports. While deciding which pairs to cop and rock, check out Pharrell’s History as a Style Icon.
