The Nike Roshe Run “Fade” Gives a New Look to a Classic Sneaker

There’s something to be said for oversaturation. There’s also something to be said about a silhouette that everyone just can’t get enough of. The Nike Roshe Run is that shoe. And coming today at Champs Sports will be the “Fade” edition, a new look on the instant classic that’ll have you looking right for summer.

By this point in 2015, everyone is well-versed in what makes the Roshe Run such a transcendent shoe and one of the sneakers that you absolutely need in your rotation this summer. It debuted in 2012 after going through more than 16 outsole revisions and 50 changes to the upper. It was designed by Dylan Raasch and benefitted by the current status among shoe lovers: wearing shoes out on the town rather than playing in them. Almost overnight, it became the quintessential shoe for 2013 and ’14 and directly influenced the launch of other lifestyle kicks like the adidas ZX Flux and Tubular.

From the adidas Superstar to the Air Force One to the Roshe Run of today, there’s always been a place in the culture for stripped-down silhouettes. However, that’s more relevant than ever right now.

The “Fade” edition is exactly what the name suggests. It’s a sneaker the features a gradient upper that spills from one light color into something different. Add in the Nike branding and that always memorable, always dope sole, and this shoe is obviously going to be one of the most important of the summer. With school getting out pretty soon, these’ll be everywhere before long.

Cop today and know you’ll be looking fresh no matter what the setting is.
