NBA on Christmas Day is always a treat. Not only do we get to see superstar performances from Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant, but also the fresh kicks they do it in. This year we can’t be more ecstatic to get our hands on Nike Basketball’s 2014 Christmas Collection featuring the Kobe 9, Durant’s KD7, and the LeBron 12 as they get a festive makeover
Let’s start off with the Kobe 9 “Knit Stocking.” Kobe will lead the Los Angeles Lakers as they take on rival Chicago on Christmas. Inspired by knit stockings, the silhouette features a red and white Flyknit upper, supple leather textures and overlays, finished with a marble outsole resembling a candy cane and a unique “Mamba’s Greetings” logo on the inside of the tongue.
Then, the KD7 “Egg Nog” is a delicious treat. The colorway sets the bar for the future KD7s, which already have a pretty impressive rap sheet. This installment is personal to KD as it is inspired by his favorite holiday drink, egg nog. It features a red hyperposite heel that integrates glossy flakes emulating the condensation of a glass of egg nog as well as a white midsole with gold flakes to pay further homage to the holiday drink. The last personal touch is the “Fresh Since ‘88” insole that pays homage to Durant’s birth year.
Last but not least, the LeBron 12 “Akron Birch” is a piece of art. Inspired by the winter scenery of King James’ hometown of Akron, the sneaker features an emerald green base combined with a unique birch tree camouflage pattern upper, and a snowflake made from small hexagons on the tongue to add to the seasonal aesthetic.
Even if Durant, LeBron, and Kobe lose their Christmas Day games, they still win with these signature kicks. Each one of the sneakers are riddled with detail, personal touches, and Christmas themes that you can’t help but love. And ll three pairs will be available starting tomorrow at Champs Sports. You can’t miss out on your favorite player’s new joints, as Nike Basketball’s Christmas Sneaker Collection Is Riddled With Amazing Details.
