Kevin Durant‘s newest signature sneaker — the Nike KD7 — has been a hit since first launching earlier this summer. From the debut “35K” colorway to the recent “Easy Money” edition, Leo Chang and the designers came correct with a mid cut, the return of the strap, a snug fit, and a storyline that morphs through each colorway. Personality has always been a major part of Durant’s signature line, and this year they took his “Weatherman” storyline to another level.
Next up to the plate is the “Good Apples” colorway, a shoe that features the iconic Yeezy black, mint, and red colorway. It’s been remixed on just about every sneaker this year, but it looks as good as ever here on the KD7. The black upper creates a solid base, and with the red branding on the Swoosh, tongue, and heel, as well as the mint outsole and inner lining, this shoe is already drawing interest from Internet message boards.
Durant is #THEBADD35T and he admits that the way he scores and shoots is similar to apple picking. He takes what the defense gives him, never forces anything, and is always on the lookout for high efficiency.
“Let’s say you have 40 apples on your tree,” Durant said in a release. “I could eat about 30 of them, but I’ve begun limiting myself to 15 or 16. Let’s take the wide-open three and post-up at the nail. Those are good apples. Let’s throw out the pull-up three in transition and the step-back fade away. Those are rotten apples.”
Today, the KD7 “Good Apples” is dropping at Champs Sports and all sneakerheads need to be ready. This looks like another winner, and with the calendar turning to October, this colorway should connect with people looking for something a little less in-your-face for fall.
