New Sneaker Release: adidas Flux “Monochrome Prism”

At The Drop, we’re champions of style and swagger. If you don’t have 30 pairs of the same sneaker, or if you aren’t creating some ill, futuristic-type music, then it’ll be hard to mess with you. That’s why we’re so excited for today’s Champs Sports release of the latest adidas Flux colorway, the “Monochrome Prism.”

Diamonds. Diamonds. Diamonds. Say it again. Diamonds. This colorway features a fractal design pattern across the one-piece upper that’ll surely stand out no matter where you’re rocking it. With black branding, white laces, and the black heel cage, along with the white sole, the shoe is still grounded despite that wild upper, and that’s important. That pronounced versatility is what we’ve always loved about this shoe. The adidas answer to the Nike Roshe Run, the Flux is a direct descendent of the ZX8000, a lifestyle sneaker originally released 25 years ago in 1989. The ZX family is know for stripping the shoe down to its bare essentials — SoftCell heel tech, Torsion system, a split sole for better movement between the forefoot and heel — and the Flux showcases that design beautifully. It’s probably the biggest reason why celebrities like Kanye West are showing out in public in the Flux, and why the lifestyle has suddenly become one of the biggest stars of the sneaker industry in 2014.

In the end, though, there’s really only one thing you should be thinking about when you’re about to buy a sneaker: Would Swaggy P wear it? If the answer’s yes, then you shouldn’t even hesitate. I have a feeling he’d no doubt rock these joints.
