It’s funny to think about now, what with the madness that every Jordan retro creates, but at one point there was a real question about what the future held for Michael Jordan‘s signature line. Back in 1988, Jordan was ready to leave Nike after the Jordan II struggled to connect with him and consumers. But the Air Jordan III, fresh with luxurious elephant print, a new logo, and a visible Air unit, not only changed the game forever, it kept MJ at home.
Designed by Tinker Hatfield, it took center stage during that year’s dunk contest, and in subsequent years became one of the most revered Jordans ever. Twenty-five years later and it’s still one of the most popular shoes to wear among sneakerheads and style icons alike, and today it returns in a new Wolf Grey and Metallic Silver colorway.
Available now at Champs Sports, you can’t risk missing out on one of the sneakers that started this whole craze.
