Fail to bring your “A” game against Kyrie Irving and there’s a good chance he’ll be catching a body before the night is out. With the way he plays, the way he dribbles, the way he attacks, the 6-2 guard just oozes swagger. It’s like he’s dancing out there and when you’re left on an island trying to guard him as he gets low and gets into his in-and-out dribble-drive routine, you’ll be feeling worse than Brandon Knight did. You’ll be feeling like someone just dropped you on set at Dancing with the Stars.
Cleveland’s lead guard has a lot of admirable qualities, but none of them take precedence over his ball-handling. His ability to handle the rock is sublime. Outside of Stephen Curry and Jamal Crawford, no one else in the NBA even comes CLOSE. That skill has been especially relevant at home, where everyone from Russell Westbrook to Kobe Bryant has felt his wrath over the last few years.
That ability to come through in big moments at home is what makes Cleveland dangerous this year in the playoffs. It’s also part of the inspiration for Nike releasing a “Home” colorway for the Kyrie 1, dropping this Thursday at Champs Sports.
Even during its initial design phase, we thought the Kyrie 1 was going to be spectacular. We were right. It’s become one of the defining basketball sneakers of this season. With a dope inspiration (Australian architecture), a slick logo, impressive tech, and awesome colorways there’s no telling how high the sneaker line will soar in the future. It’s the same way with the player.
To celebrate the release of Kyrie’s next signature colorway, here are Kyrie Irving’s Most Jaw-Dropping Moves in the Nike Kyrie 1.
