When the Jordan Spizike was first released, there were a lot of long-time sneaker collectors who either weren’t impressed with the silhouette or were just downright infuriated. But as time has passed, the community has come to see what the Spizike is: Not a capitalization on the hype but a super dope nod to Spike Lee and the Jordan Brand’s history. Now the shoe is back once again and the results couldn’t be any better.
Sporting traditional grey, red, and black colors, this version is one of the best ones yet as it helps mesh together some of the top aspects of a few of the line’s most popular sneakers. The Spizike, ironically, has been able to create a legacy of its own over the past few years. Originally one of the first “fusion” Jordans to come out and draw a legitimate following, along with others such as the Dub Zero, many of the Jordan shoes you see on today’s shelves took their cues from this classic. Hybrids and fusions all need to show a little respect; the Spizike is the godfather of all this.
It’s funny how things work, and in 2014 the sneaker is finally a classic.
Dropping today at Champs Sports, this Spizike needs to be on your wish list this year. Better yet, you should just cop today before anyone else can get to it, then take your prize out into the streets and show out on Instagram. It’s the only logical thing to do. The Jordan Spizike Is Back and Looking Better Than Ever.
