When you’re always a step ahead of the competition, how can you ever be caught? That’s the question Nike wants you to ask. It’s also the question they plan to answer with the Limited Edition Nike CJ3 Elite Radioactive LE Collection, which includes the newest signature product for the best wide receiver in the NFL, Calvin Johnson. The CJ3 Elite TD cleat comes equipped with durable Flyweave construction and unparalleled traction, unlocking your top-end speed by ensuring you can explode off the grass or turf in any direction.
You might already be in love with the cleat, but this special, limited edition collection available at Champs Sports brings something extra: a trainer version of the signature product, as well as a pair of signature gloves. The trainer is the perfect antidote for any football player looking for something flashy to wear to and from workouts, as it features the same, in-your-face color scheme of the cleat on a lightweight, low-top upper. All product is stashed on a neon green display rack within a stylized “CJ81” canister, and even the gloves flaunt the “CJ81” logo that’s found all over the pack. Sporting colors that’ll have you standout anywhere, this pack needs to be the move for anyone who wants their swagger to speak as loud as their game.
The cover is also personally signed by Calvin Johnson, as well as numbered. (Only 81 will be released.) It includes a warning to the competition: “This package contains CJ81 radioactive material dangerous against opponents and is in all respects in compliance with international and national regulations for on-field activity.”
The best receiver in the game is literally bigger, faster, and stronger than everyone else doing it right now, so you know Nike had to come correct for what will be on his feet this upcoming season. The new signature cleat and trainer–which is a lower cut than its predecessors and also features the hexagonal Max Air pads on the outsole made famous by the Nike LeBron 12–won’t disappoint.
Champs Sports is the only retailer in the mall releasing this special canister, and it will only be available at the Nike Yardline at the Riverside Mall in Chicago. Eighteen kits are releasing tomorrow for $400.
I’m not sure who deserves what more: Johnson finally getting a Super Bowl ring or us, as fans, seeing him play in one. No matter what happens this season, at least he’ll look good doing it.
