This is a monumental year for the Chicago Bulls, perennially the East’s second-best team and the top competitor to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. But I know more than a handful of Chicago fans that are simply happy that Derrick Rose is healthy. Presently, Rose is battling back from a broken orbital bone and had his best game of the season last night against the Thunder with 29 points.
His sneaker line is still going as strong as ever, though. Available now at Champs Sports is the “Home” colorway of the adidas D Rose 6, the latest signature sneaker for the former NBA MVP. This sneaker plays it close to heart, drawing off the typical Chicago black and red with a diamond pattern along the upper and wild eyelets that pay homage to the city’s architecture. There’s also the presence of the six-pointed star, which represents the Chicago flag. Add in a rugged heel cage and straps, as well as the now infamous Boost technology, and this sneaker should be a favorite for every ballplayer this season.
Derrick Rose learned toughness and resiliency way back in the day. From his family. From his neighborhood. From his city. Now 27 years old, he’s worked through multiple injuries and disappointing playoff losses to get to this point. Even with Rose at his best, it might not be enough. But at least he can show out with the kicks.
This is a sneaker that should be on every ballplayer’s list this year. Nothing’s ever better than home sweet home.
