Even though it’s technically Curry Two SZN now, especially after the recent release of the “Irons Sharpens Iron” launch colorway from Under Armour, the folks behind the MVP’s signature sneaker line are still pumping out special editions for the Curry One. The latest to drop now at Champs Sports is the “Splash Party” PE, a sneaker that Stephen Curry actually wore on the court on his birthday last March.
Last season, Curry broke this “Splash Party” PE out during a home game on March 14 against the New York Knicks. He proceeded to throw up 25 points and 11 assists in just 27 minutes on his birthday, and Golden State ran all over New York to the tune of 125 points. (During the second and third quarters, they scored a ridiculous 85 points!)
These Curry Ones feature a white glow-in-the-dark base and chrome heel counter with confetti paint speckles on the sockliner and midsole. The shoe also really stands out within the personal details along the lace tips (the areas codes for both his birth town of Akron as well as Oakland), the sockliner (graphics to enhance the “Splash Party” theme), and along the tongue (his birthday).
The Curry One will be a treasured sneaker for Curry fans forever, considering the way the entire season turned into somewhat of a perfect storm for the brand. Now with the designers going to the next level with the Curry Two, all of this takes on added significance.
Despite the presence of his newest signature sneaker, Stephen Curry’s first shoe with Under Armour is still riding strong. This will be one of your last chances to cop a pair. Don’t miss out on this special edition.
