The Air Jordan XX9 may not be the XX8 in this regard, but the sneaker has already showed it’s going to release in some wild colorways and designs this year. Still, when Jordan Brand takes us back, we can’t help but love it. This “Blackout” edition, dropping today at Champs Sports, is so hot we’re having trouble controlling ourselves.
This shoe is completely black, outside of white accenting on the Jumpman, the heel, and tongue, and I can already see this becoming a favorite for old school sneakerheads. As we’ve said time and time again, sometimes taking the simple route is the best route. An all-black shoe might sound boring, but once you throw on the jeans and hoodie, it’s super hard to top. No, Russell Westbrook might not wear it on the court. Then again, Westbrook has a style all his own. The XX9 “Blackout” is a shoe for everyone.
Featuring the first-ever performance-woven upper, as well as an evolving Flight Plate, the XX9 is one of the few sneakers that really pushes the boundaries of on-court technology. Seriously, if you haven’t at least tried them on, you’re missing out. If you haven’t played in them, you’re REALLY missing out. This sneaker is already being talked about as one of the greatest basketball joints of all time, and between the tailored woven, the divided carbon fiber mid-foot shank, and the Flight Web, I have to agree.
Don’t miss out on these shoes today. When we’re talking holiday essentials for sneakerheads, these are right there near the top.
