Every year around this time, Nike comes correct for the Christmas holiday. The NFL might have Thanksgiving, but this holiday is the NBA’s time to shine. This year will see Anthony Davis and the young Pelicans invade South Beach; Chicago battle a pissed off and overlooked Oklahoma City team with two of the five best players in the world; the Spurs and Rockets in an old Texas showdown at the corral; the two L.A. teams doing battle in what will be Kobe‘s final Christmas game; and, finally, the centerpiece of it all, a rematch of last season’s NBA Finals, the Cavs and Warriors.
Christmas has always brought out the most heat in Nike and this year is no different. Available on December 26 at Champs Sports are new sneakers for LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Kobe Bryant. The pack, as a theme, will be split between fire and ice.
The LeBron 13 sports icy blue hues, its inspiration taken from fierce Midwest winters. The Kyrie 2 for his teammate, meanwhile, features a zig-zag graphic on its strap that is meant to be the teeth of the abominable snowman. The KD 8 is a mixture of naughty and nice graphics while the Kobe X heavily features red, black, and gold hits to celebrate both the festive season and his championship success.
Nike Basketball’s Christmas pack will feature four of the best performing sneakers of the season for four of the most talented players. From one of the first colorways of Kyrie’s new sneaker to what could be Kobe’s last holiday on-court sneaker to LeBron and KD showing and proving once again, these silhouettes are too lit.
