In 2015, A.J. Green might be the closest thing to a superhero that we have in the NFL. Yes, we know about Calvin Johnson and his out-of-this-world athleticism, but Green is on that level as well. He’s a solid 6-4 with a 4.5 40-yard dash time, and has already turned in four 1,000-yard receiving seasons in a row, as well as 35 touchdowns in just 60 career games. The 27-year-old is just a pure athlete, a monster for the Cincinnati Bengals who instills fear in everyone who tries to cover him.
Green isn’t just an athlete in the traditional sense. His most impressive characteristic might be the fact that he catches everything. The fifth-year pro dropped just two passes all of last year. Two! He finished last season with a minuscule drop rate percentage of 1.7.
Knowing that, it’s no wonder Champs Sports pegged Green to star in their latest campaign, “Your Athlete Is Showing.” Over the next month, you’ll get a look into what makes Green one of the game’s most feared playmakers as Champs Sports challenged the former Georgia Bulldog to catch everything thrown his way, from multiple footballs shot out of a jug machine to even fish.
That level of excellence extends to his style off the field, as well. Whether it’s wearing Air Max 90s or Tech Fleece joggers, Green consistently stays laced in Nike Sportswear for all those times when he’s not working over defensive backs. Check out his Instagram page for more evidence, as the Bengals biggest star flexes in everything from the “Pantone” Air Jordan XI to the original Air Jordan II. In fact, outside of perhaps Joe Haden, you could make an argument that no NFL player rocks a nicer sneaker rotation than the Cincy receiver. Having game isn’t just about what you do on the field. Green knows that as well as anyone.
Catching everything thrown his way and looking fly while doing it. That sounds like a winning recipe.
Stayed tuned throughout the month for more from A.J. Green in the upcoming Episode 3 of the new “Your Athlete Is Showing” video campaign with Champs Sports.
