The latest colorway for the Air Jordan V is officially the turn up. If you aren’t out copping today, we feel sorry for you. This particular silhouette from the Jordan Brand is a classic sneaker and because of its amazing design — which features a number of aspects that came into this signature line for the first time with this shoe — it looks good in any colorway. And when we say “any” we mean it, even when it releases doused in navy and turquoise.
The latest retro to hit the streets today is a Navy/Turquoise edition that’s already been dubbed as both the “Hornets” and “Midnight Navy” editions. Dropping today as the “Pre-Grape” at Champs Sports, the shoe is a beautiful original. That midnight navy will have it looking good no matter what style pants or shorts that you wear. That’s especially important at this time of the calendar year, considering the weather can be so up and down.
While I’ve always liked the V much more when paired with pants, considering that huge tongue, it’s historical impact means that no one will hate on you for wearing these with shorts. They have that type of legacy. The Jordan V was worn by Mike during the 1989-90 season and received inspiration for the midsole’s teeth from World War II P-40 Warhawk fighter jets. Sporting a clear sole, that 3M reflective tongue, the mesh netting, and lace locks, the V was an original in every sense of the word.
The Air Jordan V is one of the greatest Air Jordans ever made and despite releasing 25 years ago, it still looks amazing with new colors.
