We weren’t the only ones who thought that the adidas ZX Flux was one of the best sneakers from 2014. It had fans everywhere because it was comfortable, versatile, and gave truly creative individuals the canvas to make it their own. In other words, it was the embodiment of everything sneakerheads are looking for in the current culture.
With 2015 in full swing and with spring here, you had to figure adidas would find a way to capitalize on that hype. Well, that went even further, taking the original and freaking it until it became something new. That new design is the adidas ZX Flux Weave, which released today at Champs Sports in two different colorways.
Now sporting these weave-based uppers, this shoe is still a nostalgic take on the infamous ZX8000, a lifestyle sneaker originally released 25 years ago in 1989. (You could also say it’s somewhat of a little brother to the Nike Roshe Run, as you can’t really talk about one without mentioning the other.) This particular shoe is a stripped-down silhouette of the original with SoftCell heel tech, a Torsion system, and a split sole for better movement between the forefoot and heel. In the ZX Flux Weave, we can see the seamless woven upper is adding another look.
The original ZX Flux released in everything from camo prints to monochrome diamonds. But this newest addition to the family for 2015 might be our favorite one yet.
