During last February’s NBA All-Star Weekend, some of you might’ve overlooked the debut of the adidas “XENO” collection. Between the NBA festivities, New York Fashion Week, and everything revolving around Yeezy–not to mention the surprise drop of Drake‘s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late–a general release sneaker wasn’t causing any hype.
Something interesting happened, though: People loved the “XENO” ZX Flux. The silhouette is already popular because of its sleek look and trendy versatility. But when you add in the “XENO” graphics, which feature highly iridescent scales inspired by the Xenopeltis snake found in Southeast Asia, the look goes from mainstream to something more.
Over the past year, we’ve seen the style used on a number of adidas Originals silhouettes. However, it’s hard to find another shoe that makes it look as good as the Flux does.
Dropping this Friday at Champs Sports is the “XENO Borealis” pack. It includes two new yellow and green colorways for the adidas ZX Flux, a versatile sneaker whose sleek silhouette plays perfectly off the acclaimed “XENO” design. Unlike the original iterations, the Flux now features a striking colored gradient along the one-piece mesh upper. It’s a look that will be perfect for the spring weather, when dark tones traditional give way to more vibrant colors.
While last year’s NBA All-Star Weekend in New York City was the debut of the “XENO” collection from adidas, this year they’re taking it another step or two forward with some new, updated colorways for the ZX Flux model. However, in addition, we’re also getting the Primeknit “Glow-in-the-Dark” pack for the Tubular and Superstar, which takes inspiration from starry Toronto lights.
Available starting Friday, these will add to an already eventful NBA All-Star Weekend.
