It feels so good to have the NBA back. With training camps underway, we get to obsess over LeBron‘s weight loss, Marco Belinelli‘s new trophy tattoo (yes, he really got it on his bicep), and listen to Phil Jackson slyly throw shade at Carmelo Anthony. We get to check out cool things like the Hornets’ new uniforms and Kawhi Leonard‘s new Jordan XX9s. It’s one of the best times of the year, especially since everything feels like we just skipped an entire year and woke up on Christmas morning. Gift after gift after gift.
Coming off his MVP season, Kevin Durant and the Thunder will be right there in the Western Conference once he returns from injury, and have the ability to beat anyone in a seven-game series. (Remember, they were thisclose to pushing San Antonio to a Game 7 last year.) But to all of us, that feels like something so far off into the distance that we don’t even want to fathom what could happen between then and now. It’s more about what’s going on right now. For Durant, it’s the sneakers.
Launching this past summer, the Nike KD7 has been the best performing and most well-received signature shoe of Easy Money’s line. The mid-foot strap is back. The mesh toe box gives it a unique look. And the Hyperposite technology takes it to a place no Durant sneaker has gone before.
“It’s been a great journey with Nike and I’m confident giving Leo [Chang] specific feedback on what I’m looking for in a shoe,” Durant said during the unveiling in June. “For the KD7, I really wanted a shoe that allowed me to move quickly, while having great support and stability. I also wanted to bring back the strap.”
With the season set to begin, make sure you’re laced in the best shoes from, arguable, the NBA’s best player. Tomorrow, the “Uprising” colorway is dropping at Champs Sports. You can’t afford to miss out. However, if you’re still on the fence about them, let us convince you that nothing looks better this season than the KD7.
